Suburbs
WEST
OF ALANYA
Okurcalar
(mostly villas):
32 km to the west of
Alanya and has 12.000
inhabitants. The famous
historical Alara castle is in Okurcalar and
the famous Alara brook takes its name from
that historical castle. Every 15-20 minutes a
bus pursues from here to Alanya and back.
Avsallar
(mostly villas):
23 km to the west of Alanya.
Crystal-clear water and clean beaches are the
special qualities of this area. The place has
8.400
inhabitants. In the centre you can go shopping
comfortably. A small health centre and also
several pharmacies are existing there. Every
15 to 20 minutes starts a public bus from
there to Alanya and back.
Konakli
(apartments and villas):
idyllic holiday resort with 28.000
inhabitants, approximately 15 km to Alanya.
Konakli
has the oldest historical culture of this
area.
It’s
advisable to visit these cultural sights.
Here
you will find everything what you need. There
is also a small health centre and several
pharmacies.
Local farmers'
market takes place every Wednesday. Every 15
to 20 minutes a public bus leaves for Alanya
and back.
EAST
OF ALANYA
Oba
(mostly apartments):
is
about 3 km to the east
of Alanya.
A
small river with the
same
name,
runs throw this suburb. In the green landscape
oranges, mandarins, lemons, avocado and
strawberries are cultivated. Oba is one of the
most popular and most beautiful suburbs of
Alanya. A newly
constructed shopping centre and a pedestrian
zone makes this place even more beautiful. The
bus leaves for Alanya every 15 minutes.
Tosmur
(mostly apartments):
is
approx. 3,5 km to the east of Alanya. This
suburb has
6.000 inhabitants. In this area
there are mainly cultivated fruits and
vegetables. A small Aqua park offers bath and
slide pleasure for young and old. In this
small place there is a bazaar, where you can
buy souvenirs, textile and foods. The bus
frequents Alanya every 15 minutes.
Kestel
(mostly villas):
is
about 7 km to the east
of Alanya. You
can
find here the sight-worth,
second-largest limestone cave of Turkey, the
Dim Cave. Additionally there is the famous Dim
Cay (Dim
River),
a very popular excursion destination in the
middle of the Taurus mountains, in marvellous
nature, where you can relax, eat delicious
grill dishes and you can swim in the cold and
clear water of the creek.
The bus
frequents Alanya every 15 minutes.
Mahmutlar (mostly apartments):
is the largest suburb, approx. 13 km to east
of Alanya with its 23.000 inhabitants. It's a
beautiful place, with a 4,5 km long beach and
an own city centre. Every Tuesday and Saturday
the
local farmers'
market takes place. In the centre
there is
a private clinic and 3 pharmacies. There are also historical
sights as the Syedra castle and the ancient
city Iotape. The public buses frequents Alanya
every 10 minutes.
Kargicak
(mostly villas):
is
about
20 km to the east of Alanya. This place has
4.200
inhabitants.
The
first-class bananas are harvested in Kargicak.
Besides the banana cultivation there are
different fruits and vegetables here. That
gives the landscape a unique beauty. The public buses
frequents Alanya every 20 minutes.
Demirtas (mostly villas): is
the last settlement of Alanya,
located about 30 km to the east
of Alanya and has
4.000
inhabitants. A small
place, where one can enjoy the voice of the
nature without interference. In this
area citrus fruits and vegetables are
cultivated. One urban
pharmacy stands here at disposal for medical
supply. The public buses frequents Alanya
every 10 minutes.
